LAW ENFORCEMENT / SECURITY SPECIALIST
OFF DUTY / PLAIN CLOTHES CONCEALED CARRY
INSTRUCTOR COURSE
4 DAYS
Almost half of any law enforcement agency personnel in America go to work everyday in plain clothes. These officers may be investigators, special unit officers, supervisors and managers, or undercover personnel. A great number of officers are then permitted to carry a concealed firearm in their off duty time. Many agencies spend very little time in training officers from concealed carry and some agencies, such as NYPD, show that 40% of their officer involved shootings occur in plain clothes or off duty confrontations. Are you teaching your officers how to draw and fight from concealed carry? What other equipment do they carry with them? Do you have liability issues based on not training your officers for these plain clothes encounters?
In Off Duty / Plain Clothes Concealed Carry we will teach the law enforcement firearms instructor some much needed techniques to take back and teach at their agency. Not just the “how to” of concealed carry and the various holster carry positions utilized today, but the Mindset, Physical Dynamics, and Tactics that can make the difference in whether an officer wins or…
Student Instructors will learn about various concealed draw techniques such as the Hackathorn Rip, the Curl Technique, and many others. Student Instructors will learn the pro’s and con’s of various holster designs and carry methods such as the s.o.b. rig, fanny packs, shoulder holsters, ankle holsters, and others. Various clothing considerations based on climate and personal choices by officers will be discussed and trained. The officer’s will learn about Challenge Commands, Blue on Blue shootings and their prevention, and numerous tactics that apply to the officer in plain clothes that differ from their normal duty gear load out.
During the course of these four days the student instructors will gain vast knowledge in getting off the line of attack, recognizing pre-assaultive behavior, movement in the “kill zone”, identifying up as a law enforcement and displaying their badge, as well as enhancing the winning mindset to better prepare their officers for these encounters.
